Fitness / The Smoothie King Center: Host of the 2017 NBA All-Star Game

Aug 26, 2016 • Smoothie King

The NBA All-Star Game is returning to the Smoothie King Center! For the second time since Smoothie King announced its multi-year partnership with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2014, the Smoothie King Center will host basketball’s brightest (and tallest!) stars.

In addition to the game, the Smoothie King Center will host the Rising Stars Challenge on Friday, February 17, where the league’s most promising rookie players divide into two teams and compete in an exhibition game. The following night, the Smoothie King Center will serve as the stage for All-Star Saturday Night on February 18,  which consists of the Skills Challenge, Three Point Contest and the always impressive Slam Dunk Contest.

Fans attending the 2017 NBA All-Star Game have a lot to look forward to. Here are just a few things you can expect from attending this action-packed 2017 NBA All-Star Weekend.

Sip Among the Stars

Each year, the NBA All-Star weekend brings basketballs’s top athletes together to compete against the best of the best. Not only will the Smoothie King Center be populated with NBA’s biggest stars, the stands will be filled with all kinds of A-list celebrities eager to show their All-Star spirit. On your way to one of the 2 full-service Smoothie King concession stands in the arena, don’t be surprised if you bump into your favorite actor or artist. Just make sure not to spill your Angel Food Smoothie in all the excitement!

Start Mardi Gras with a Slam Dunk

With the 2017 NBA All-Star Game taking place February 19, on top of getting to see NBA All-Stars showcase their most impressive moves, fans attending the event will also get to be a part of New Orleans’ world-famous Mardi Gras festivities. The first weekend of this colorful New Orleans tradition falls on the same weekend as the 66th NBA All-Star Weekend. Fans can easily enjoy both monumental events thanks to the Smoothie King Center’s prime location in the heart of the Crescent City, only a stone’s throw away from Mardi Gras hot spots like the French Quarter.

Witness History Being Made

The last time the NBA All-Star game came to the Smoothie King Center in 2014, a total of eleven all-star records were shattered by the league’s top athletes including highest overall All-Star Game score with a combined 318 points. Don’t miss the chance to cheer on the All-Star athletes to another record-breaking performance!

Inspire Your Purpose

Much like the NBA, Smoothie King is passionate about promoting a healthy lifestyle and supporting America’s athletes at all levels. There’s no better motivation to achieve your dreams than watching some of the world’s top performing athletes live out theirs! While the NBA greats make history on the court, surrounding Smoothie King visuals will encourage fans to “Feel Taller” and “Get More Jump”. Don’t forget to post a #smoothieselfie with your favorite!
