A Smoothie King Shift Manager who lost 65 pounds,* Alec was finally able to break a lifetime of poor eating habits and leave his sedentary lifestyle behind with help from our Change A Meal Challenge.

Q: Why Change A Meal?

A: When Alec joined Smoothie King as a team member he knew he was overweight, but he wasn’t concerned about his health. Working for Smoothie King exposed Alec to information about nutrition and healthy eating which inspired him to make healthy changes, like cutting out junk food and its empty calories.

Q: How has Change A Meal changed Alec’s life?

A: When Alec began the Change A Meal Challenge in April, 2015, he was 19 years old and weighed 259 lbs. He replaced one meal a day with a Smoothie King smoothie, maintained a low-calorie diet, and exercised one hour a day, five days a week. Through determination and effort, he lost 65 lbs. in about six months, and he is much happier and healthier weighing in at 194 lbs.
